Buying a domain through ZebraSnap
How buying a domain with us works, what is included, and what happens after the first year.
What you get
When you buy a domain through ZebraSnap, we register it on your behalf and set everything up so it serves your portfolio in minutes. The price includes:
- One year of domain registration.
- WHOIS privacy so your home address isn't published in the public WHOIS database.
- Automatic SSL with auto-renewal, forever.
- Auto-renewal of the domain itself, charged to your card on file. You can turn it off any time.
You keep ownership of the domain throughout. If you ever leave ZebraSnap, you can transfer it out to another registrar — see Transfer your domain out.
How much it costs
Most TLDs start at $19/year. .io and a few others run higher. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay — no asterisks, no first-year promos that triple later.
After payment
- We register the domain at our registrar (this takes ~30 seconds).
- We set the DNS at the registrar to point at our servers — you don't need to do anything.
- We provision the SSL certificate.
- Your domain goes live. We email you when it does.
Total time from payment to live: usually under 10 minutes.
Renewals
We email you 30 days and 7 days before renewal so there are no surprises. On the renewal day we charge your card. If the card declines, we retry over the next 7 days and email you so you can update it.
If we still can't renew, the domain enters the registry's grace period (still recoverable for ~30 days) and then redemption (recoverable but with extra fees) before being fully released.
We don't host email. If you want you@yourname.com, set it up at any email provider you like (Google Workspace, Fastmail, Zoho Mail, ProtonMail) and add their MX records at the registrar. Their setup steps will show what to add.
