Connect a domain you already own
Step-by-step instructions to point your existing domain or subdomain at ZebraSnap, with notes for the most common registrars.
Quick version
- Open Settings → Custom Domain and enter your domain (e.g.
yourname.com) or subdomain (e.g.gallery.yourname.com). - Add the DNS records we show you at your registrar.
- Wait. Verification typically completes in a few minutes; DNS can take up to 48 hours in rare cases. We'll email you when your site is live — no need to keep the page open.

We never ask you to change your nameservers. Your email and other records stay exactly where they are.
At each registrar
Namecheap
Domain List → Manage → Advanced DNS → Add New Record. Save each row. TTL: Automatic.
GoDaddy
DNS → Records → Add. Use @ for the apex name. Save individually.
Cloudflare
DNS → Records → Add record. Important: for the A record, set Proxy status to DNS only (the gray cloud) for verification to succeed.
Google Domains / Squarespace Domains
DNS → Resource records → Create new record. Name uses the host part only (e.g. _zebrasnap-verify or www).
Hostinger
DNS Zone Editor → Manage DNS records → Add New. Save.
What if it's stuck?
We re-check DNS every five minutes for the first day, then every hour for the next week, then daily. If we still don't see the records after 24 hours we'll email you with a checklist.
The most common causes:
- The TXT value was pasted with the leading underscore in the wrong field.
- The Cloudflare proxy was on (orange cloud) instead of off (gray).
- The A record points at the wrong IPv4.
- DNS caches outside your registrar are slow — give it more time, especially for
.com.mx,.com.br, and other ccTLDs.
